At our workshops we share resources that can help parents and young people stay safe online and navigate conversations about pornography. Below are some of our favourite tools (including our device contracts), books and websites.

For Parents of Children Under 12

These resources help parents start early, age-appropriate conversations and set up healthy digital boundaries.

  • Good Pictures, Bad Pictures - Kristen Jensen
    A helpful guide for talking with younger children about pornography, including how to recognise it and what to do if they see it.

  • Where Willy Went - Nicholas Allen

    A funny and simple introduction to reproduction for children aged 3+.

  • The Amazing True Story of How Babies are Made - Fiona Katauskas

    A highly regarded book for young children providing a lighthearted yet factual and inclusive explanation of sex and reproduction.

  • Tricky Chats Parenting Course - Jo Roberston

  • Fight The New Drug

  • Brain-Heart-World (Documentary Series)
    A three-part documentary exploring how pornography affects the brain, relationships and society. Each episode is around 30 minutes. 

  • Take It Down

    A free service that helps remove or stop the online sharing of nude, partially nude or sexually explicit images of young people under 18 from the internet. Based in the USA this service can be used by young people anyone in the world.

  • Moral Revolution YouTube

    God's not ashamed of sex, so neither are we. We'll have any conversation and answer any question. No topic off limits.

  • Bishuk.com

    A guide to sex, love and you.  For what your Sex Ed left out.

    IMPORTANT: Please note that Bishuk.com is not a faith-based website, and it contains content that, as Christians, we would not typically endorse. For parents who want to better understand what young people are experiencing online.

  • Growing up with P*rn - NZ Classification Office Report:
    52 young people around NZ chose to talk at length about porn and what they are facing. Great read if you parent teenagers. This report shows that our teens want their parents to talk about porn. 

  • NZ Youth & P*rn - NZ Classification Office Report: 
    2000 young people (aged 14-17) throughout Aotearoa were surveyed on their porn use. This can be hard to read but interesting to grasp what is happening in Aotearoa, from a teen perspective. 

  • Content that Crosses the Line. Conversations with young people about extremely harmful content online - NZ Classification Office Report:
    This report shares information from our young people about the types of extreme content they are consuming online, and how they feel about it.

    Lisa Taylor is a counsellor and multi-award-winning author living in New Zealand’s Northland. Her own journey towards healing from betrayal began in 2010 and she began leading support groups for betrayed partners in 2014.
